A serverside patch was released for America's Army 2.8.3.1 !
quote:
This patch fixes two issues:
Players were able to join a server without a username which would result in a negative player count. If joining a server with no username was done enough times it would result in people being kicked from the server, or the server would remain in a state where a round would not begin.
Switching to tournament mode would sometimes result in a server crash. Also, frequent map switches would cause players to be kicked.
Attention: This is a server side patch only! If you are not running an America's Army server you do not need this patch. Applying it to a client application may result in a PunkBuster kick
LAN competition is back for Americas Army after the collapse of the Cyberathlete Professional League (CPL) earlier this year. Headed up by members of AA's most successful competition teams as well as staff from the Cyberathlete Amateur League (CAL) and the Army Game Project, the event promises to be the largest AA LAN in years.
The fierce competition will last for three days, from the 18th to the 20th of July in the Essex Ballroom at the Doubletree Hotel outside of Chicago in Oak Brook, IL. According to Gotfrag.com, four of the top five teams in NA competition will be at the event, and 15 teams were signed up within the first week. E-Rev will be providing live streaming coverage of the competition and all signs are that AA Summer LAN 2008 will be a success.
Registration is currently open--talk with your teammates today about attending, and head over to www.aa-lan.com to show your support!

This year's league features a different format, different structure, different gameplay, and a new sponsor. Over a 6-week period, 48 teams in 4 different divisions will compete in 4v4 matches. There are 12 teams in each of the following divisions: North American-Invite, North American-Open, European-Invite, European-Open. The Invite Division is composed of teams which have shown that they can participate in more competitive gameplay. The Open Division is available for any clan to sign up and get in on the action. However, due to a limited number of space in the bracket there will only be slots available for 12 NA and 12 EU open teams.
Signups are open up now and will last until Friday, October 12th. At that point, teams will be selected and the subsequent week will be background checks done by our Anti-Cheat staff. Matches will start on October 21st.
